Days 2 - 9
  • Enter a wonderful world of kandus, thilas and wrecks. There really is so much to explore in this trip with expected sightings of sharks, eagle rays, tuna, manta rays and whale sharks.

Haa Alifu – Haa Daalhu and Shaviyani
  • The atolls are the oldest of the Maldives archipelago and form a single chain of widely spaced islands surrounded by deep clear blue water, small thilas teeming with fishlife, undercut ledges with excellent corals and beautiful white sand floors.

  • Thakan: a deep ridge adorned with soft coral and excellent shark spotting opportunities.

  • Fssp: a shark cleaning station with huge schools of batfish, trevally and eagle rays.

  • Pink Canyon and Heaven and Hell: have stunning soft corals for excellent wide angle photography.

  • The wreck of Captain Pentalis: resting on a shallow reef, this wreck is home to an astonishing amount of fish life and often pods of common dolphin are seen passing by in the afternoon.

  • Magic Mushroom: miraculous macro life and a stunning night dive.

  • Island Hideaway: mantas!

  • Moroshi Thila and Handi Thila: provide action packed dives with sharks, fish life and excellent coral.

   Noonu Atoll
  • The 71 islands which make up Noonu Atoll offer stunning topography and a wide choice of dive sites to suit all divers. Orimas Thila, which acts as a nursery site and cleaning station, often attracts large numbers of grey reef sharks as well as leopard and guitar sharks, barracuda and a variety of rays. Miyaru Thila, a pinnacle located in the middle of the atoll, is another great location which is a stopping point for the grey reef sharks which come in to the reef. Also seen here are eagle rays, the occasional leopard shark, guitar sharks, tuna and schools of snapper. Other sites include Christmas Rock which, with its stunning corals, is where we can see an abundance of white tip reef sharks and have the pleasure of watching marble rays as they come in close to divers. Soft corals camouflage a variety of nudibranchs, whilst turtles are also seen among the corals.

   Raa Atoll
  • Just north of Baa, and separated by a thin channel, Raa Atoll contains a high density of thilas within its lagoons with caves, overhangs and drop-offs providing stunning underwater scenes of abundant marine life with colorful corals, huge numbers of reef fish and a variety of pelagics including mantas and whale sharks in the Summer months.

   Baa Atoll
  • Encompassing 54 islands of South Maalhasmaddu and Goidhoo Atoll, Baa is best known for Hanifaru Bay, where huge numbers of Manta Rays congregate to feed at certain times of the year, especially around full and new moon phases when high tides and strong currents bring nutrient and plankton rich waters in to the bay. Baa has many reefs, thilas and channels providing numerous dive sites offering steep drop-offs, overhangs, caves, abundant coral and fish life, sharks, eagle rays and, of course, Manta Rays.

  • Hanifaru Bay is a marine protected uninhabited island located in the Baa Atoll of the Maldives Islands. Its size is no greater than that of a football field and yet it has become one of the hottest spots on the planet for underwater photographers.

  • The reason for this modern day phenomenon of underwater diversity is because plankton blooms - a very unusual phenomenon - between the months of May and November attracting manta rays by the hundreds.

  • At any one time at Hanifaru Bay, there can be up to 200 manta rays feeding off the coral reefs as well as plenty of whale sharks which do the same! Hanifaru Bay has become the world's largest manta ray feeding destinations. PLEASE NOTE: Scuba diving is not permitted in Hanifaru Bay, however you will be able to snorkel in this area for a $20 fee (per person for approximately 45 minutes).

  • Dhigala Haa, this beautiful thila is easily circumnavigated in one dive and is a favorite for shark sightings; often big numbers of grey reef sharks together. Once heavily fished, it is now a protected marine sanctuary and the fish life is prolific and varied with blue fin jacks, fusilier, blue striped and humpback snapper, batfish and schools of barracuda.

   Lhaviyani
  • Excellent channel diving in the north with sites closely located together. Lhaviyani Atoll hosts some of the Maldives wreck diving opportunities, including the two coral encrusted wrecks at 'The Shipyard' and the exhilarating drift dive of the Kuredu Express. A site suitable for the more experienced diver.

   North Malé
  • Miyaru Faru is located on outside corner of Thulhaagiri Kandu in North Male Atoll, this reef, with its overhang at 28 meters, is a great location to stop on an incoming current to watch grey reef sharks patrolling the edges or the reef into the channel, as well as large numbers of barracuda, trevally and tuna. In the center of Thulhaagiri Kandu, the long and narrow Miyaru Thila has many large coral heads on its north-west side which attract big schools of fusiliers, napoleon wrasse, powder blue surgeon fish and eagle rays.

  • Okobe Thila is a spectacular dive site, which comprises three large reefs with a variety of features and an abundance of different types of coral, teeming with fish. Large groups of blue-stripe snapper, oriental sweetlips and fusiliers swim over the reefs while sharks, barracuda, tuna and trevally patrol the outer edges and channels between the reefs.

  • Lions Head a protected marine area is another great location for spotting grey reef sharks. A deep wall with an overhang shaped like a lion's head, hence the site's name, offers exciting drift dives in the company of sharks, turtles and much more. A large cave filled with soft corals provides shelter for hundreds of smaller fish while sea fans and an abundance of corals cover the top of the reef.

Day 10
  • 2 dives in the morning depending on guest flight schedules and the 24 hour requirement before flying.

Day 11
  • Unfortunately our trip has come to an end and we have to say goodbye, but we hope to see you again soon!
